Joel A Vanderniet
Dr Joel Vanderniet is a Paediatric Endocrinologist practising at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and St George Hospital in Sydney. He completed his medical degree at the University of Tasmania and endocrinology training at John Hunter Children’s Hospital and the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network. His clinical practice includes general endocrinology and diabetes with a special interest in bone and mineral medicine. His research focus has been on the use of denosumab in children with RANK ligand-mediated disorders, particularly Giant Cell Tumours of Bone and Aneurysmal Bone Cysts. He has led the development of international recommendations for the use of denosumab in paediatric RANK ligand-mediated disorders. He is a member of the ANZSPED Bone and Mineral Working Group and coordinates the national paediatric denosumab multidisciplinary forum.
